DOMAN

Dave and Jean originally lived in the Toronto area and in 1973 they decided they would like an outdoors type of dog. They looked in the local paper for an Irish Setter. Fortunately there weren?t any, but there were Golden Retrievers. The breeder had a male and 2 females. We chose a female, called her Sheba and that started our 44 year love affair with  Goldens. Fortunately Sheba had a very nice pedigree, her sire being Ch. Symbol of Yeo, and she formed the foundation of their breeding programme. With help and guidance from Golden breeders such as Jack Reid (Goldrange) and Ainslie Mills (Oriana) they bred 21 litters over a 27 year period under the Doman's prefix and can boast numerous show champions, obedience, tracking and...

KITSANA GOLDENS

Diane’s first Golden, Ch. Gold Rustler, CDX, Am. CD was purchased in 1978. She was looking for either a Doberman or Golden to compete with in obedience and was fortunate to find a litter sired by Evelyn Smith’s Rion. Ev has to this day remained her good friend and mentor.

Diane and her Kitsana Goldens have been successful in conformation, obedience, hunt and WC tests, agility, tracking and as therapy dogs as well as loving family companions. She has both new and old friends that she has met through her interest in Goldens. She is grateful that her puppies have gone to wonderful homes with many dedicated owners who have become involved in the various aspects of dog sports.

Anita’s wonderful journey in goldens began on July 14, 1977 when her first puppy was born. She competed in conformation, obedience, field and tracking events, and met many fabulous people and lifelong friends along the way. She travelled to many National Specialties across the U.S.A. as well. All of her dogs were owner handled and trained to all their titles, including multi High In Trials, Sporting group win and placements and National Specialty placements as well as their hunt, working certificate and tracking titles.

She was very blessed to own 6 amazing goldens:

ORIANA

Barrie and Ainslie Mills (Oriana Perm.Reg.) joined the GRCBC in 1975.  Each served terms as President and they have acted as Trophy Curators for many years. They organized the first GRCBC awards banquet and were instrumental in the development of the original Club Code of Ethics. 

Ainslie served in numerous Executive positions and as Newsletter Editor in the days of the Gestetner.  She designed the original Club logo and coordinated the GRCBC Rescue for 11 years. 

They bred and/or owned many multi-purpose Goldens, with over 60 champions, numerous GRCC Hall of Famers, dog guides for the blind, avalanche and search and rescue Goldens and many performance titleholders.

Dorothy Shaw  (1931-2016)
After a stint at showing and breeding Alaskan Malamutes, Dorothy met Carole Kvamme Johnson, of Alderbrooke Goldens in the Seattle area. Carole and Dorothy became instant friends and the change from Malamutes to Goldens was made. First came Brigit, who Dorothy showed in obedience in both the US and Canada.  After Bridget came Ch. Alderbrooke?s Distant Drummer Am.Can. CD  - Boomer.  Boomer was followed by Hanna, Leia, Breanna and Annie.  Dorothy adopted Annie, who had a serious heart condition and was not expected to live more than a year or two.  Dorothy and Annie ended up spending almost a decade together until Dorothy became to ill to care for Annie and she went to live out her ...
