Evelyn Smith & Daemon    (1929-2019)

Evelyn Smith, of Victoria, BC, owned a number of significant Goldens in BC Golden history.  She is best known for owning and training the very first CH-UDT Golden Retriever in Canada, Can. CH Mossbank's Golden Honey Can UDT (10/9/1959-6/21/1971), who earned this distinction in 1964.  Her notable male Goldens included Am.Can.CH Gayhaven Daemon Am.Can. CDX, WC  and his son Am.Can CH Can. OTCH Orion of Alderbrooke Am. UD Can. TD OS.   Ev was a mentor to many new fanciers at a time when the breed was much less popular and promoted the breed's versatility by example.  Ev and her late husband Jim were often camped out at the dog shows and in later years, Ev enjoyed showing and training her Norwich Terriers.
