Dorothy Shaw  (1931-2016)
After a stint at showing and breeding Alaskan Malamutes, Dorothy met Carole Kvamme Johnson, of Alderbrooke Goldens in the Seattle area. Carole and Dorothy became instant friends and the change from Malamutes to Goldens was made. First came Brigit, who Dorothy showed in obedience in both the US and Canada.  After Bridget came Ch. Alderbrooke?s Distant Drummer Am.Can. CD  - Boomer.  Boomer was followed by Hanna, Leia, Breanna and Annie.  Dorothy adopted Annie, who had a serious heart condition and was not expected to live more than a year or two.  Dorothy and Annie ended up spending almost a decade together until Dorothy became to ill to care for Annie and she went to live out her days with Wendy and Garry Galt.

Dorothy became very involved in the GRCBC, serving on the Executive of the GRCBC, including multiple terms as President and Treasurer, where her professional accounting background was put to good use..  She was an active volunteer and always supportive of all the Club functions and events from conformation to obedience, field and educational events.
