It is with heavy hearts that we had to say “good-bye forever" to our beloved Abbey today, until that special time arrives, when "we will see you by your lake.”

After an extensive leg injury in 2004, it was thought that Abbey would lose a limb; however, over the next year, her leg was re-built and she underwent lots of rehabilitation.

Although her dog sport competition days were over, Abbey spent the next eight years of her life, enjoying every minute at the cottage, doing the things she loved to do most of all . . . swim and retrieve bumpers.

This past week was different. Her back gave out and she could no longer get down to the shore to enjoy her daily swim. Acupuncture and pain medications didn’t work their magic this time! Thank you to our good friend and Vet, Tracey Griffin, who made several trips to our cottage over the past few days, and an extra special thank you for helping us to help Abbey over to the “other side of the lake."

Thanks too, to our son, Cam, who has held us up the last few days.

Abbey’s memory is forever etched in our hearts, here at the lake . . . "Go fetch it Abbey! We love you!"
